Turnbull: coalition committed to ETS

Opposition leader Malcolm Turnbull has said that he is confident the coalition will vote for the amended emissions trading scheme this week.

After much discussion, Mr Turnbull emerged from party room talks to announce that he had the backing the coalition.

“The party room is committed. I'm the leader. I've made the call," Mr Turnbull said.

"There is clearly a majority in favour of the position shadow cabinet has recommended."
