Rudd opens Capital Wind Farm
(Wednesday 18 November 2009)
Prime Minister Kevin Rudd today opened Australia’s largest wind farm, the Capital Wind Farm, near Bungendore in New South Wales.
The farm, with its 67 giant turbines, will boost Australia’s power supplies by up to ten per cent and has the capability to power 60,000 homes.
"Wind energy is part and parcel of our energy future," said Mr Rudd.
"We are on the cusp of seeing a whole new energy industry and a whole new a set of employment opportunities take off.”
