Judge: No more lip-synching

Minister for Fair Trading, Virginia Judge, has called for new laws that alert concert goers if the concert they have paid to see is a live performance, or will be lip-synched by the artist.

The debate on warning consumers about miming during supposedly live performances has been sparked by the arrival of Britney Spears on her current Australian tour; the star is reported to have been miming throughout her international tour to pre-recorded vocals.

"Let's be clear - live means live," Judge said of the issue.

"If you are spending up to $200, I think you deserve better than a film clip.”
