Howard: NRL role not out of the question

Former Prime Minister John Howard remained coy amid speculation he would be taking a position with the National Rugby League.

Mr Howard has reportedly been approached to head an independent body that would run the sport.

“I'll leave that discussion to another day except to say I've always had a great interest in that game, as I have in a lot of sports, and I wish it well,” he said.

We'll just see what develops.”
