Sweeney's Screen Worlds opens at ACMI

Tony Sweeney, CEO of ACMI, launched the new exhibit in Melbourne yesterday, heralding a new direction for the centre.

Cate Blanchett and other celebrities were there to show support for the exhibition showcasing Australia’s role in the development of the moving image.

Sweeney says the simple question of “what is a centre for the moving image?'' has helped to guide the current path for ACMI.

''This is an archive for the future, it is a learning and research resource” he said.
