Hewitt’s almost victory

Lleyton Hewitt has lost his Wimbledon bid to American Andy Roddick, in a match that fluctuated for nearly four hours.

Hewitt, suffering from a thigh injury, forced the final quarter into a fifth set only to fall short of a victory.

''There's a lot of positives to take out of it,'' said Hewitt.

''The guys that I've beaten. especially the Del Potro match, the way that I actually went out there and took it to him. Yeah, I played great tennis for three sets against a worthy opponent.”
