Terracini new Opera Australia director

Entrepreneur and singer, Lyndon Terracini, has been named Opera Australia’s new artistic director.

Mr Terracini, who will take up the position in October this year, wants to encourage new Australian work, attract younger audiences and embrace digital technology in productions.

"So that we can tell our stories, not only nationally but internationally," he said.

"I think at the present time Australians are very keen to connect to the culture of this place, and I think audiences too are very aware that they want to be a part of the stories that we're telling and they want to see those stories. There's a big change taking place and we need to be part of that."
