Thomas says Barnett is the best option (Tuesday 5 August 2008) Shadow Treasurer Steve Thomas says former Opposition leader Colin Barnett may well be elected unopposed as leader. Liberal MP’s will meet tomorrow to elect a new leader to replace Troy Buswell, who has been revealed to be unpopular with voters. "I think that Colin Barnett can lead the Liberal Party, to be the alternative Government in Western Australia, and I think that the people will take us seriously." "I think there are other people like me that believe that Colin Barnett is the best person to do that, and so I'm hoping to see him elected unopposed when we meet this week."
