Kennett: Melbourne’s next Mayor?

Former Premier Jeff Kennett announced last night that he is considering running for Lord Mayor of Melbourne.

Mr Kennett said he had been approached by a "range of interests", but would not decide until the "death knell."

"I think the city is ready for a change," he said.

"In any job these days at the top, I think things change very quickly and you need to keep - in the interests of the community you serve - introducing fresh blood."
